IDEAS INTO PRACTICE

What you will explore.

The themes below introduce the educational focus. Your confirmed programme handbook will specify the curriculum and requirements.

01

Knowing the child

Connect developmental principles with the children, languages and relationships of a particular community.

02

Preparing with what is available

Explore safe, purposeful materials made from accessible resources, with attention to order and the child’s reach.

03

Learning through practice

Link workshop exploration with changes in the everyday environment, then return to reflect on what happened.

04

Mentoring and local leadership

Consider how continuing relationships help practitioners share knowledge and sustain their practice.

05

A community of care

Recognise families and local educators as partners in creating conditions in which children can flourish.

THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE

Knowledge becomes practice.

Connect discussion of child development with practical experience, observation and individual support. Build on community knowledge and resources, creating low-cost materials that respond to children’s needs.

A community of learners

Bring your questions and your experience. Professional preparation asks us to examine our own responses as carefully as the environments we prepare for children.

A LITTLE MORE CLARITY

Questions we hear.

Can an organisation enquire for a group?

Yes. Tell the Institute about your community, practitioners and existing support. A conversation can explore suitability and partnership arrangements without assuming that a funded cohort is already available.

When can I join, and what will it cost?

The next dates and fees are to be confirmed. Contact admissions for the current course information before making travel, employment or financial arrangements.

Who will teach the course?

Faculty assignments are confirmed for each cohort. Ask admissions for the teaching team and programme handbook for the offering you are considering.
